Inference-based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (I-CBT)

Inference-based Cognitive Behavioral therapy, or I-CBT, differs from traditional CBT/ERP for OCD in that it doesn't view obsessions as "intrusions" but rather conclusions our minds arrive at following a faulty reasoning process. I-CBT helps us identify this process of faulty reasoning and the underlying fears about ourselves fueling them. I-CBT places emphasis on "trusting our senses", creating a narrative that is more grounded in reality, and staying out of the wild imagination where OCD thrives.
